Desolation adds a series of hard and light materials that can be used to make items. These materials are obtained by processing bones and chitin from butchered bodies, or by processing flesh and bone tree logs. It's possible to produce enhanced bonemold using arcanite.
Organic Refinery[]
Here, bonemold is produced from bones (5 bones per chunk) and chitin (5 globs per chunk). It's advised to create a separate 'fat' stockpile for the chitin materials, although this may be time-consuming (as, with the recent changes to the game, all materials glob-producing tissues have to be defined inside each individual creature, so there's a material for each chitinous creature). Bone Carving labor is needed.
Bonemold Enchantment Altar[]
It is possible to enhance bonemold chunks with liquid arcanite to create better materials. The enchanted bonemold types are equal to, in an ascending order: bronze, steel, fungal steel and saronite steel in terms of cutting and protective power; all of them remain light. Alchemy labor is needed.
Bonecrafter's Workshop[]
Here, chunks of bonemold are used to create furniture, weapons and armor out of bonemold tool items (the number varies). Bone Carving labor is needed.
